Trying to separate team players into groups based on bocce skills is important to form bocce teams as balanced as possible, hopefully to make all teams equally competitive as the season starts. Bocce leagues are typically formed using some form of a player grouping system.

Britton Falls Bocce Club teams are formed by the current year's Team Captains meeting in September to try their best to separate the players into 4 groups and then meeting again in May after the signup to form teams using those groupings.

Mixed league teams are checked that husband & wife are not on the same team and at least 1 woman & 1 man are on each mixed league team. If necessary, the correction is made by exchanging 2 players in the same group of the final four groups.
